Measuring for inside mount window blinds and shades is really easy. You just need to know where to start measuring and where to stop. What you measure depends on the type of mount you are using. In this case, we are measuring for an inside mount – which means the blind will go inside the window casing and sill. But be sure you have enough mounting depth before you buy. Mounting depth varies from blind to blind, so be sure to check the measurements of the blind you want to buy before purchasing. If you’re not sure what mounting depth is, watch the video.

In this video, how to do measure it in easy steps:

Quick Summary:
Make sure nothing is attached to the inside of the window sill that could get in the way of the movement of the blind, like an alarm sensor, window crank, etc., that protrudes and blocks the blind’s free movement up and down.
Measure to the nearest 1/8 of an inch.
Order the narrowest width and the longest heigh.
